Roadmap
Updated
Mention Network works in four phases, and they build on each other: find out whether AI recommends your store, find out why, get told what to change, then change it. The first two are available now. The last two are coming, and there is no date on them, because a date we cannot keep is worth less to you than an honest "not yet".
What are the four phases?
| Phase | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 1. AI Visibility Check | Asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude where to buy your product, and reports whether your store gets named. | Available |
| 2. Website Audit | Scores your store against 40 criteria in 4 factors to explain why you are, or are not, being recommended. | Available |
| 3. Optimization Plan | Turns each finding into the specific fix for your product, written from your own store data. | Coming |
| 4. Deploy Fixes | Applies a fix you have approved to your store. | Coming |
Each phase needs the one before it. The audit reuses the language and the competitor answers from your check, and a plan cannot be written for problems nobody has found yet.
What is being worked on beyond that?
Today Mention Network answers one shape of question: where to buy a specific product, for a store that resells other brands' products, on Shopify. Everything below is a real direction rather than a promise with a date:
- More sales channels. WooCommerce, then custom-built stores. The engine is the same; only the connector changes.
- Brand-level visibility. Today's check is about your store being named as a place to buy. Whether AI recommends a brand, and what it says about that brand, is a different feature.
- More languages. Some off-site trust signals are only meaningful in English-language markets today. See How scoring works.
- Checking several products at once. One check covers one product, one location, one language.
What does Mention Network deliberately not do?
Some of this is not a gap. It is a decision, and it is worth knowing which is which:
- No scheduled re-checks. Nothing runs in the background on a timer. You re-check when you have changed something and want to know whether it worked, which is the only moment the number means anything.
- No guessed data. If an assistant does not state a price, the report says N/A. It never goes and finds a number elsewhere and presents it as what the AI said.
- No fake results. If no assistant names your store, the report says so. Zero is a finding, not an error to be smoothed over.
- Not an SEO rank tracker. Google rankings are a different channel with different rules. Mention Network measures what AI assistants answer.
Where do I ask for something?
If you need something that is not here, or you want to know where a phase has got to, contact the team. What merchants ask for is what moves up this list.
