Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mention Network. They cover our website and the app you install on your store. We have kept them short and written them in plain words, because terms you cannot read are terms you cannot really agree to. If anything here is unclear, or if it does not match what you see the product doing, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix one or the other.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Mention Network is a tool that measures whether AI assistants recommend your store, and helps you fix what holds you back. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Mention Network. "You" means the person or the business using it.
These terms cover two things:
- Our website at mention.network, including everything you read or click there.
- The Mention Network app, once you install it on your store.
By using either one, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
What we do with data is a separate document: our Privacy Policy, at mention.network/privacy. It is worth reading alongside this one, and it forms part of your agreement with us.
2. Who can use Mention Network
Mention Network is built for businesses that sell online. It is not a consumer product.
- You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
- You need the authority to connect the store you connect, either because it is yours or because the person who owns it asked you to.
- If you accept these terms for a company, you are confirming that you are allowed to accept them on its behalf.
Connecting a store you have no right to connect is the one thing here we treat as serious on its own, because the damage lands on someone who never agreed to anything. See section 14.
3. Your account
- Keep the details you give us accurate, and keep them current.
- Keep your sign in details to yourself.
- Anything done through your account is treated as done by you. If you think someone else has got in, write to [email protected] quickly and we will help you shut it down.
4. What the service does
We ask real AI assistants the kind of questions a shopper asks, and we record whether your products come up and who gets named instead. We then read your storefront and score the things that decide whether AI can understand and recommend it. From there we show you what to fix, in the order that matters most.
Where a fix can be applied for you, the app can apply it, but only after you approve that specific change. Section 7 covers how that works.
What we cannot do is worth saying out loud: we have no special access to any AI assistant and no seat at anyone's table. We measure them from the outside, the same way your shopper meets them.
5. What we promise, and what we do not
We promise to measure honestly, and to tell you what we actually found rather than what would sell better.
We do not promise results, and here is exactly why:
- A score is a measurement taken at one moment. It describes what we saw, not a permanent fact about your store.
- AI assistants are not predictable. The same question can come back with different answers on two runs, so your results can move even when nothing about your store has changed.
- We do not control any AI assistant, and none of them owe us anything. They change their models, their rules and their answers whenever they decide to.
So we cannot promise that following our recommendations will get your products recommended, ranked higher, or bought more often. Anyone who promises you that is guessing. Treat our reports as informed guidance, and keep your own judgement in the loop.
6. Free and paid use
You can try the product properly before paying anything:
- The first product you check is free, and that includes both its check and its audit.
- After that, checking more products, running a check or an audit again, and the paid steps that tell you how to fix things and apply the fixes, are paid for with credits.
- The price, and the number of credits an action costs, are shown to you before you buy or spend. Those figures are the ones that count, not any number written on this page.
- Payment itself is handled by the platform or the payment provider you buy through.
Credits are not refundable and have no cash value, except where the law where you live says otherwise. They are spent inside the product, and they cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.
We can change our prices. If we do, the new price applies to what you buy after the change. It is never applied backwards to something you already bought.
7. Your store and your content
Your product content, your storefront and everything you publish stay yours. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of it to us.
To do its job, the app needs your permission to read and process that content while it is installed. That permission exists to run the checks and audits you asked for, and for nothing else. Exactly what it reads, and what it never reads, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
The app changes your store only when you approve a change. When you approve one, the app is acting on your instruction, and what ends up published is your content and your responsibility, exactly as it would be if you had typed it yourself. We recommend. You decide.
You can uninstall the app at any time, from your store admin. Uninstalling ends its access straight away.
8. Our service and your reports
The reports we generate for you are yours to use in your business. Read them, share them with your team, act on them, and show them to your client if you work as an agency or a reseller. That is what they are for.
The service itself stays ours: the app, the website, the way we score, and the way we present it. Using the service does not hand any of that over.
Two things you may not do with what comes out of it:
- Sell our reports on as a standalone product of your own, or use them as the raw material for a service that competes with ours.
- Scrape the service, or try to pull our scoring method out of it by taking it apart.
9. Aggregate and anonymous data
We learn from what we measure, in two ways: to make the product better, and to publish benchmarks about how AI treats online stores in general.
We only do that with aggregate data. Aggregate means combined with everyone else's and stripped of anything that points back at a particular store. A published benchmark can say what percentage of stores miss a given signal. It cannot say that yours is one of them.
We will never name your store, or describe it closely enough that someone could work out which one it is, without asking you first.
None of this changes the commitment already in our Privacy Policy: we do not share one merchant's data with another, and we do not use your store's data to benefit a competitor of yours.
10. What you may not do
- Connect a store you have no right to connect.
- Try to break, overload or work around the limits of our systems.
- Take the service apart to copy it, or scrape it in bulk.
- Work around how credits are counted, for example by opening extra accounts to farm free ones.
- Use the service to do something illegal, or to publish content you have no right to publish.
- Interfere with anyone else's use of it.
11. Services we rely on
Mention Network runs on top of other companies: the e-commerce platform your store lives on, the AI providers whose assistants we measure, and the infrastructure we host on.
Each of them sets its own rules and can change them. When one of them changes what it allows, our product changes with it, sometimes quickly, and not always in a direction we would have chosen. We are not responsible for what those companies do, and your relationship with them runs on their terms, not ours.
12. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the service running and we take it seriously when it does not. But we do not promise a level of uptime, and we do not promise it will never be interrupted. Maintenance happens, and so do failures.
We also add, change and remove features as the product grows. If we remove something you meaningfully rely on, we will tell you before it goes rather than letting you discover it.
13. If something goes wrong
The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we do not warrant that every measurement is complete or accurate for every store, because these are measurements of systems we do not control. Section 5 explains that in plain terms, and this section is the legal version of it.
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect or knock on losses, such as lost sales, lost profit, lost data, or a decision you took based on a report.
- Our total liability, for everything combined, is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here takes away rights that the law does not let us take away. If part of this section turns out to be unenforceable where you live, the rest of it still stands.
14. Ending these terms
You can stop at any time. Uninstall the app, stop using the site, and that is that. There is nothing to cancel formally and no notice to give.
We can suspend or close your access if you break these terms, use the service illegally, or put our systems or other customers at risk. We will tell you why, unless the law stops us. We do not close accounts without a reason.
When access ends, unused credits are not refunded, for the reason given in section 6. The exception is if we ended it for a reason that was not your doing, in which case write to us and we will make it right. What happens to your data afterwards is covered by our Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We will update these terms when the product changes, and the date at the top will change with them. If a change actually affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect rather than hoping you re-read this page. Carrying on using the service after that means you accept the new version.
16. Contact
Write to us at [email protected]. That address reaches a person, and it is the right place for anything about these terms.
If something on this page does not match what you see the product doing, tell us. One of the two is wrong, and we will fix it.
