Install the app

Installing Mention Network takes about a minute and needs no technical setup. You find it on the Shopify App Store under the listing name Mention Network AI Visibility, install it on your store, and approve a short list of read-only permissions. It then appears in your Shopify admin as Mention Network. Your first product's check and audit are free, with no card required.
What do I need before I install?
- A Shopify store. Mention Network is a Shopify app today. WooCommerce and custom sites are planned, with no date set. See the Roadmap.
- At least one live product. A live product is one with the status Active that is also published to the Online Store sales channel. A product that is a draft, archived, or published only to another channel has no public product page, so AI assistants have nothing to find. Only live products can be checked.
- No technical skills. There is no code to write, no theme to edit, and nothing to configure.
How do I install Mention Network?
- Open the Mention Network listing on the Shopify App Store. Search the Shopify App Store for Mention Network AI Visibility, the listing name, and open it.
- Install the app on your store. Click Install and pick the store you want to add it to, if you run more than one.
- Approve the permissions. Shopify shows you exactly what the app is allowed to read. Approve to continue. Every permission is read-only.
- Open Mention Network in your admin. The app appears in your Shopify admin sidebar as Mention Network. Open it and the welcome screen takes you to Home.
Nothing else is needed. There is no account to create on our side, no key to paste, and no theme change.
What permissions does Mention Network request?
Three, and all three are read-only:

| Read markets | The list of countries your store sells to, so you can pick the location to check. |
| Read locales | The languages your store is set up for, so you can pick the language to check. |
Alongside those, Shopify gives every app your basic store details, such as your store name and domain. Mention Network uses them to spot your store in an AI answer, which may name you by shop name, by domain, or by a slightly different spelling of either.
Does the app change anything in my store?
No. Every permission the app asks for at install is a read permission. It has no ability to edit your products, your theme, or anything else, so checking and auditing cannot alter your storefront.
What happens right after I install?
The first time you open Mention Network you see a welcome screen, once. It explains what the app does and takes you to Home, the app's main page.
On Home you get a Setup guide with three tasks:
- Run your first AI visibility check. This is the one to start with, and it is free.
- See where you stand. Reading your report. It unlocks once your first check has run.
- Find & fix what's holding you back. Running a Website Audit on a product page. It also unlocks once your first check has run.
Tasks 2 and 3 stay locked until the check in task 1 finishes, and that is deliberate rather than a limitation: the Website Audit builds on the check. It reuses the language you picked and the answers the AI actually gave, including the prices of the stores it recommended instead of you, so it has nothing to work with until a check exists.
What does it cost to install?
