Usage and credits

Updated

Every paid plan includes a set amount of usage each month. Usage is what running the app costs: each check, audit and Optimization Plan draws from it. This page explains what uses it up, how to see what you have left, what happens when you run low, and how buying extra credit fits in.

What uses up my usage?

The work you run, not the number of products you own. Usage is spent when you:

  • Run an AI Visibility Check on a product.
  • Run a Website Audit on a product, from your second product onward.
  • Generate an Optimization Plan for a product, to see how to fix what the audit found.

Your first product's check and audit do not touch your usage at all, on any plan. Bigger jobs cost more than small ones: checking a product across more markets, for example, does more work and uses more.

How do I know how much I have left?

Open the Usage screen in the app. On a paid plan it shows how much of your monthly usage you have spent, as a percentage, and the date it resets. It deliberately does not show "you have N checks left", because different jobs cost different amounts and a single number would be misleading.

On the Free plan there is no percentage: you simply have one check and one audit for your first product, and the screen shows whether you have used them.

When does my usage reset?

At the start of each billing cycle. Your cycle is anchored to the day you approved your plan, not to the first of the month, so each store has its own reset date. When it resets, your monthly usage fills back up to the full amount for your plan.

What happens when I am running low?

When you have used about 90% of your monthly usage, the app warns you, both on the Usage screen and at the top of your Home screen, so you are not caught out mid-task. You still have room to finish what you are doing and decide what to do next.

If you do run out, the app stops you before a job starts rather than failing halfway through, and shows you your options: move up to a plan with more monthly usage, buy extra credit to keep going now, or wait for your usage to reset.

What are credits?

Credit is extra usage you buy as a one-off, for when you need more before your cycle resets. You buy it from the Usage screen, and it is shown as the amount you paid, counting down as you use it. Any paid plan can buy credit at any time, and it works straight away.

Do credits expire?

No. Your plan's monthly usage and any credit you buy are two separate pools, and they behave differently:

How plan usage and extra credit differ
Plan usage Extra credit
How you get it Included in your plan Bought as a one-off
Resets each cycle Yes, it refreshes every month No, it never expires
Used first Yes After your plan usage runs out

Your plan usage is spent first; credit is only touched once the plan usage for the cycle is gone. Because credit never expires, anything you have paid for stays yours and carries over, cycle after cycle.
